The Catholic Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of the 2020 Faith Formation grant cycle. Formerly known as evangelization grants, the name changed in 2020 to best reflect diocesan priorities.

Faith formation grant applications will be accepted from January 15 through February 28.

Catholic parishes and the Diocese of Erie may apply for grants for parish and/or diocesan-based faith formation projects that focus on:

  • Projects that promote life-long faith formation activities
  • Projects that welcome absentee and/or non-Catholics into the church
  • Projects that promote faith formation through technology
  • Projects that provide spiritual support to families, singles, youth and young adults

2019 was the inaugural year for the Catholic Foundation to accept grant applications in a competitive granting process for evangelization (now faith formation) grants. We are pleased to announce that grants totalling $31,230 were made to support the following projects:

$5,000 to the Diocese of Erie for website support

$2,500 to the Diocese of Erie for the Midnight Mass telecast

$4,500 to the Diocese of Erie for the #iGiveCatholic initiative

$2,480 to the Diocese of Erie - Office of Faith Formation for a social media plan

$1,800 to Holy Cross Parish for a life-long faith formation project

$1,000 to Immaculate Conception Parish for the 99 evangelization program

$1,000 to Our Lady of Mount Carmel for welcoming events to enahnce the social life of the parish

$3,400 to Our Mother of Sorrows Parish for the Come Home for Christmas parish renewal project

$1,400 to Saint Boniface Parish for the Olive and Vine Christian After-School program

$2,800 to Saint Callistus Parish for A Spark for Saint Callistus faith sharing program

$2,500 to Saint George Parish for retreat ministry, young adult ministry and an interactive men's program

$1,650 to Saint Jude Parish for the 20/30 young adult ministry

$1,200 to Saint Mark Parish, Emporium for Cameron County Take Me to Worship evangelization program
